ANOTHER HIATUS
Hello all, I know I have been gone for quite some time, but I had to leave the country to visit by grandma who was sick. She is doing better now and all is well. Just wanted to drop you all a line to assure you that I have not abandoned my blog. I will be back at it after I catch up on some sleep. Later

MCQ DEAD!
This is probably a post that no one will care about but me, but I have to do it anyway. Today I came home from work turned on the tv and the 1st thing I heard was that Alexander McQueen (my #3 favorite designer) died. This news made me so sad because I truly enjoyed his designs. It was sharp, chic, and above all else original. I secretly drooled over his pieces but they were always out of reach financially. Nevertheless I couldn't stay away form his collections, secretly trying to find pieces that resembled his.

P.S.A.
Hello Guys, I received a viddy from a middle school friend and it moved me so much that I felt the need to post it. We have all heard about how dangerous texting and driving is but I don't think that we ever think it applies to us. If you are an Oprah fan, she has a movement where each person pledges to not text and drive. I think this is a great idea because it only takes a second for our lives to change. Take a moment to watch the viddy then pledge to not talk or text while driving. I know I will never hold a conversations or text someone while they are driving.

WHAT WAS SHE THINKING?
When I started my blog I said that I would not write about celebrities, but I just can't let her get away with this. Last night J called me and said that I needed to see Rihanna's outfit. The silence in my house was quickly followed by my screaming voice. I was frightened by the mess that she called an outfit. I mean are you serious Rihanna? What was she going for? I think I have figured it out though. she was going for the " If you look at my outfit maybe you won't notice that I can't sing a lick" look. Don't give me wrong, I love Rihanna (though I have started getting tired of seeing her) and I usually love her style, but I can't let this one go. Take a look people and tell me what you think.
P.S. I agree wit J, the best part of her outfit is her eye makeup.

VDAY is almost here and I figured I should post something for all the lovers..... (suckers!!!!) I can't say I celebrate the holiday (I believe you should show love everyday) but I love the idea of it. So if you're a slacker and need a few ideas here are a few. The great thing is that vday gifts can be given year round.
(Note all gifts are from etsy.com. For those of you who don't know etsy, it's a n all handmade site. So if you like something chances are it can be tweeked to you liking.)
1. Lingerie is always classic. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
'Scandal in Paris Capelet'
2. Jewelry with meaning
143 (I Love You)
Thumb prints. This is probably my fav!. The maker sends you a kit where you can place you thumbs. You then send the kit back and they merge the prints to create a heart. You can also have your names engraved on the back. How cool is that?
3. Art
I heart you. There is nothing as personal as art. This designer has captured love on a canvas.
These pieces are hand embroidered on felt and framed. You can have your theme song or anything that has special meaning to you and your lover (lol).
4. Coupons
Sometimes you just want to give love. Since it cannot be bottled coupons are a great way to show how much you care for someone.
When I was in undergrad my roomie and I had a bootie from a diaper bag that we would hang on the door to signal that someone was in the room knocking boots. Well I don't think that we ever used these booties but I found a more grownup version that's oh so cute.
I hope you enjoyed my vday ideas. Let me know what you think of my ideas and share yours.

LAY YOUR HEAD ON MY PILLOW....
I have a thing for decorative pillows. I love their colors and textures and the character they add to any room. They can easily be switched out to recreate a space. The old me was always drawn to the silk embellished $350 designer pillows, but times have changed. I saw a post about a fellow blogger's pillows purchased from Target and decided to take a look. To my surprise Target has some pretty snazzy pillows and for cheap too ($9-$25)!! I will definitely be getting some when I start shopping again! Here are a few. Let me know what you all think.
